NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music fans from all over the world are flocking to Nashville for the 40th Annual CMA Music Fest.

On Tuesday night, fans were lined up for star-studded concerts at the Grand Ole Opry and downtown Nashville.

Stars such as Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker are among the musicians to take the stage at the historic Opry House to perform for fans anxiously anticipating the annual music festival.

Lee Woodside told Nashville's News 2 she is visiting Nashville from Australia and has always wanted to attend the festival.

"We've been planning it for seven years, so we finally got here," she said.  "We wanted to win the lotto and buy our own tour bus and that wasn't happening, so we thought we'll just have to come."

Another visitor added, "Nashville is everything I expected, but a heck of a lot more."

The annual event officially kicks off on Wednesday with a parade on Lower Broadway.

Nightly concerts will be held at LP Field beginning on Thursday and continuing through Sunday.

Metro police will be closings several downtown streets to accommodate the four-day festival.  Click here for details.
