PARSONS, Tenn. – It's been nearly two months since nursing student Holly Bobo disappeared from her home in rural Decatur County.

Little has been said in recent weeks about what might have happened to the 20-year-old, and no one has been identified as a suspect in her disappearance.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation and says outside groups such as Tactical Search and Rescue often hinder the operation.

On its Web site, the Ohio-based non-profit claims they are helping both the TBI and FBI in the case.  There are photos of Bobo and information about her disappearance.  There is also a place where people can leave tips for authorities.

While founder Tony Calabrese says his group is helping in big way, the TBI says they are not, and even claims the group is responsible for false leads in the case.

"This non-profit group you are referring to is not working with TBI," the TBI said in a statement.  "The founder has no first hand knowledge of the investigation."

The statement went on to say that outside groups, "while they may be pure hearted, do interfere with law enforcement's work."

The TBI says many outside groups also try to solicit money.

Calabrese told Nashville's News 2 in an interview over the phone that's not true in his group's case.

"We're completely non-profit.  We don't ask for donations. There's no money ever collected.  It's basically people doing things from their heart and their own pocket," he said.

Bobo's family says they appreciate outside help but they are relying on investigators to bring her home.

"We also need to be very careful in spreading things we may not know that may be absolutely true," Kevin Bromley, a family spokesperson, said in a release sent to Nashville's News 2.

Bobo was last seen on April 13 being led away from her home where she lived with her parents and brother by a man wearing camouflage.
