Victor Quroz-Salate was arrested after the girl reported the suspect had gotten into bed with her and placed his hand inside her clothing.
The victim was spending the night with a friend at the time, and was awakened by his touching, police said.
Quroz-Salate is in the country illegally, according to authorities, and was once deported in August of 2009.
During an interview, Quroz-Salate told detectives he likes living in Tennessee because "people get things for free here."
Quroz-Salate is charged with aggravated sexual battery charges and was booked into the Sumner County jail without bond.
Immigration officials were notified.
