CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Ft. Campbell, Kentucky man has been charged in connection to a violent home invasion early Thursday morning at a home on Southern Drive in Clarksville.

Shortly after 2 a.m., police said three men brandishing guns forcibly entered the home and yelled, "Clarksville Police Department."

Seven people were sleeping inside at the time, including five children, ages two, four, seven, nine and 12.

At one point, police said one of the gunmen struck a woman's head repeatedly with a firearm while demanding money and then yanked her four-year-old son out of bed by the arm, held onto him, and placed a pistol against his head.

He then threatened to kill the child if he wasn't given the money, police said.

When the gunmen received some property, they fled from the scene.

Detectives identified Adam Timothy Chaffin, 21, as one of the suspects.

He was arrested and charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and criminal impersonation.

He was booked into the Montgomery County jail on $205,000 bond.

Clarksville police said the investigation was ongoing and additional arrests and charges were expected.
