MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – According to a report in the Daily News Journal, the NCAA cleared Middle Tennessee State University's Lady Raiders to wear a patch in honor of slain teammate Tina Stewart.

The women's basketball team will wear a number 20 patch on their jerseys during Sunday night's tournament game against Georgia.

Stewart, 21, was found stabbed to death in her off campus apartment earlier this month.

The basketball player's roommate, Shanterrica Madden, 18, has been charged with first-degree murder and is currently out of jail on bond.

Her lawyer, Joe Brandon Jr. has claimed his client acted in self-defense.
