NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Hundreds of brides-to-be lined up early Saturday morning for the opportunity to purchase a wedding gown at a discounted price.
The Goodwill store in Rivergate opened at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning for the second annual Wedding Gala. The gala offered hundreds of wedding gowns at a fraction of the cost.
Holly Morelock and her family arrived at the store at 10:30 p.m. on Friday night to be one of the first brides to enter the store early Saturday morning.
"We are here to find the dress at a very discounted cost," Morelock said.
Hundreds of dresses from modern to vintage were all priced under $400 saving brides hundreds or thousands of dollars.
"About 80% of [the dresses] are brand new," Goodwill spokesperson Suzanne Kay-Pittman told Nashville's News 2.
Many brides said their gown is one of the most important elements in their upcoming wedding.
"That's everything to me. I want my fiancé to cry when he sees me," one bride-to-be said.
In addition to wedding gowns, bridesmaids' dresses, mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, flower girl dresses and even prom gowns were sold at a discounted price.
Goodwill workers said that more than 170 dresses were sold on Saturday. To view some of the remaining dresses, visit Goodwill's Wedding Gala Look Book.
