NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The store manager involved in a shootout with two robbers on Tuesday night spoke out about the terrifying incident.
Kamil Alakabi is the owner of the Lewis Street Market. He told Nashville's News 2 this is the third time there has been an attempted robbery at his store.
According to Alakabi the two male suspects entered the store and put a gun in his face.
"I grabbed my gun and I [kept] shooting. Shot them like 10 times. They [ran] away," Alakabi said, adding, "I shot them like 10 times and they [shot] three or four times I believe."
Despite the store's front window being shattered by the gunshots and other damage in the store, Alakabi said he is not afraid though he is hopeful there will not be another robbery incident.
"I have to live, you know?" Alakabi said.
Police are continuing to search for the two robbery suspects.
According to police, both suspects are described as black males and are approximately five feet, nine inches tall, with medium builds.
At the time of the robbery, they both wore dark sunglasses.
One of the men had dreadlocks and wore a red long-sleeve t-shirt and blue cap. The second suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact police at 615-862-6993 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
