SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – Teachers, co-workers and students of Harris Middle are hopeful that missing teacher Shelley Jones Mook will be found safely.

Bill Pietkiewicz is the principal at the Bedford County middle school where Mook taught eighth grade reading.

"I want to keep this story out there, we all do. We want Shelley back," Pietkiewicz said.

The middle school principal told Nashville's News 2 that it has been a struggle for co-workers and students since Mook disappeared last week.

"They still have to go into that classroom everyday and there's a substitute teacher there," Pietkiewicz said.

Mook was last seen when she dropped off her six-year-old daughter at her ex-husband's home in Shelbyville.

Hours later, authorities found her car burning in a field in Murfreesboro.

Police told Nashville's News 2 they are still continuing their investigation and that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation searched Mook's ex-husband's home last weekend.

While police continue their investigation, Mook's students have created banners and are raising money to help in the safe return of their missing teacher.

"One of the young ladies last Thursday night, put together the pink and green ribbons because those are Shelley's favorite colors," Pietkiewicz said.

He continued, "She asked if she could sell those and give the money to the family for their expenses."

Mook's family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading up to her return.

Anyone with information should call the Bedford County Sheriff's Department at 931-684-3232, the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department at 615-904-3049 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 615-744-4000
