MT. PLEASANT, Tenn. - Maury County authorities have arrested two people Monday night in connection to a major drug lab discovered in Mt. Pleasant.

Deputies on the scene confirmed to Nashville's News 2 a lab used to manufacture methamphetamine was discovered inside an abandoned house located at 7947 Golf Club Lane, off Highway 166.

Authorities responded to the home just after 8 p.m. after receiving a tip.

They could smell chemicals from at least 30 feet away from the home, and there was so much smoke present, they could not see inside.

The suspects, identified as Edward Ceyrolles and Stephen Collins, were inside the home for 30 minutes before they surrendered.

They were arrested and face charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Maury County deputies told Nashville's News 2 it's one of at least seven meth lab busts in January alone.

No other details were released.
