NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Dozens of Nashville restaurants and cafes will offer special discounts this week as part of Nashville Originals' Restaurant Week.
More than 40 Nashville restaurants will be participating in the weeklong event, offering two and three course meals for a discounted price.
"This is typically a slower time of the year for most restaurants, so it gives people a reason to come out, get in the different restaurants and see what we do," Cabana Restaurant general manager Craig Clifft told Nashville's News 2.
Monday, The Blind Pig was packed for lunch as many first time customers stopped by to take advantage of the deals.
"My wonderful friend, Amanda, sent me the link to Restaurant Week and we decided The Blind Pig was the place to go. We've heard some wonderful things about it," Brooke Smotherman said. "We got chocolate and peanut butter dessert to go, so we're going to spend our afternoon eating dessert."
Across town at Midtown Cafe, owner Randy Rayburn was busy greeting customers.
Rayburn also owns Sunset Grill and Cabana, all three of which are participating in Restaurant Week.
"We borrowed the idea five years ago from New York City. It's been great. It's twice a year, every September and January," he said.
Nashville's Restaurant Week continues through Sunday, January 23.
Prices range between $20.11 and $30.11 for either a two or three course meal. Several restaurants are also offering drink specials.
