NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the 27th year, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office is continuing to offer Sober Rides to those who have had too much to drink during their New Year's celebrations.
Last year, more than 1,200 people took advantage of the free service.
"We have about 150 sheriffs office volunteers, employees of the sheriffs office who will come and get you, no questions asked, so there's really no excuse, there's never an excuse, but on this night it's free and its available to you," Karla Weikal of the Davidson County Sheriff's Department told News 2.
Sober Rides will be offered from 10 p.m. on Friday night through 2 a.m. on Saturday.
Drivers will only take people home or to a hotel, not to another party or bar.
