Heather Jensen - WKRN, Nashville News, Nashville Weather and Sports

Heather Jensen

Heather Jensen is happy to return to her roots at News 2.  She interned at WKRN while attending MTSU.  Since graduation, she's spent many years working in front of and behind the camera.

Heather started her television career in production at WZTV in Nashville, but soon left her hometown to work on-air in Georgia.

She spent nearly four years at opposite ends of the Peach State in Toccoa (training ground for World War II's paratroopers) and Columbus (Home of the Infantry at Fort Benning).  She's covered all things great and small, from local city council meetings to Presidential visits, tornadoes to draught, and town festivals to Little League World Series Championships.

When it was time to get back to the city, Heather made a beeline for home, Nashville.  She helped start a new morning show with WZTV.  She also worked freelance with WSMV before settling into the newsroom of WKRN.

Heather has been a photographer, editor, producer, anchor, and reporter.  Her passion is story-telling, but it's her work off-camera that gives her the most joy.  She worked behind the scenes of the MDA telethon for two years in Nashville, before becoming co-host for the local telecast in Columbus.  She has also been an emcee for Walk Now for Autism and several Special Olympics events in Nashville.

Heather loves the outdoors, being active, and spending time with family, friends, and her two pups.  She's not a morning person, but looks forward to waking up Nashville with News 2.  Join her!
