HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – State Senator Diane Black has won the GOP congressional primary in the 6th District with an 800-vote margin.
Black had 23,940 votes, or 31%.
Former Rutherford Country GOP chairwoman Lou Ann Zelenik and state Senator Jim Tracy each finished with 30% of the vote.
Zelenik had 23,127 votes and Tracy had 23,112.
Iraq war veteran and lawyer Brett Carter won the Democratic primary, and will face black in the November general election.
