CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Country singer Mindy McCready is in good condition in the emergency department of a Florida hospital.
Cape Coral Hospital spokeswoman Karen Krieger would not say why McCready was taken to the hospital on Tuesday morning.
In a release sent to News 2, Kat Atwood with Music City Media said they have "no information or confirmation of the official medical diagnosis" and that information reported by TMZ.com about a possible overdose "has not been confirmed."
McCready surfaced in 1996 with the No. 1 hit, "Guys Do It All The Time," and a double-platinum album, "Ten Thousand Angels."
In recent years, she is better known for a tabloid life of domestic abuse, drug and DUI arrests.
She was recently on the VH1 reality show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."
Her mother lives in Lee County on Florida's south-central Gulf coast.
