WKRN, Nashville, Tennessee News, Weather, and Sports |Nashville to host 2014 Women's Final Four

The city of Nashville has been selected to host the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Final Four tournament in 2014.
"This is great news for Nashville", Nashville Mayor Karl Dean said in statement. "This news speaks to what a great destination Nashville is for large events and their participants, and it helps validate the need for a new, much larger convention center downtown."
Music City was one of five cities awarded the women's tournament between the years of 2012 and 2016.
The tournament will be held in Denver in 2012, New Orleans in 2013, Tampa Bay in 2015 and Indianapolis in 2016.
The event will be held at the Sommet Center in downtown Nashville.
It is the first time Nashville will be hosting the event.
