CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – As Hemlock Semiconductorprepares to open its Clarksville location, the company is planning a career fair to hire employees for the new location.
The career fair will be held next Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Montgomery County Civic Center located on Pageant Lane in Clarksville.
The Hemlock plant aims at making Tennessee a leader in solar energy. It will produce materials used to build solar panels.
"We are looking for front line people, people who come in and they are working with the poly that will eventually go into solar cells," said Hemlock Manager Mike Tendler.
"When they attend this event, potential job candidates can get accurate information about Hemlock Semiconductor's hiring process," Human Resources Manager Laura Lambeth added.
Most of the hiring for the 500 job positions will begin in early 2011.
"We are looking for people who are career minded, who will come in and work hard and work their way up through the company," Tendler said, adding, "I think there is a terrific base of talent here in Clarksville, and that we are going to do really well up here."
The $1.2 billion facility is scheduled to open in late 2012.
