Fatal crash claims Mt. Juliet man

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Mt. Juliet man was killed early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on North New Hope Road in Hermitage.

Metro police identified the victim as 43-year-old James Idleburg.

Authorities said Idleburg was driving his Ford pickup north on North New Hope Road when the truck traveled off the roadway and collided with a utility pole at 4 a.m.

Idleburg, who was not wearing his seatbelt, died at the scene.

Excessive speed appears to be a contributing factor to the crash.

Police said toxicology tests were pending to determine whether alcohol also played a role.
