Boswell's currently has three locations in Middle Tennessee. The new downtown store on Second Avenue will be their fourth.
Owner Bubba Boswell told News 2 a downtown store has been in his business model for several years.
"There are roughly 50,000 people with in a five minute walk," he said. "Thousands of tourists come to Nashville and motorcycles and Harley Davidson and country music go together. This is kind of one of there stopping points when they ride to Nashville. So we just thought it was a natural fit."
The new Boswell's Harley Davidson store will be located at 180 Second Avenue North, next door to Hooters.
"It is going to be 3,000 square feet," Bubba Boswell continued. "It will have the top floor will be all retail with really cool Harley Davidson memorabilia, Music City stuff. A lot of Music City Harley Davidson stuff."
Besides merchandise, Boswell's downtown store will also include historic Nashville motorcycle memorabilia.
"I always like to see the expression on people's faces in old photos, and you compare that to people today, and there is really not a whole lot of difference. People just love riding motorcycles regardless of whether it was 1950's, 60's, 70's or it is today," said Boswell.
The Harley Davidson name appeals both to motorcycle riders and non-riders.
"It [doesn't] matter if you ride a Harley or whatever, you love Harley Davidson. It is Americana. It doesn't have demographics," he said.
Boswell's Harley Davidson will celebrate 60 years in Nashville this year.
They hope to be open for business downtown by May 1.
