Police: Father left 6-year-olds in theater, passed out drunk
Douglas Davis, 25, is charged with child neglect, public intoxication and simple possession of marijuana.
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - A Nashville man faces several charges after he passed out drunk in the bathroom of a Hendersonville movie theater while his daughter and nephew, both six years old, sat in the theater unattended.
According to the arrest report, witnesses said 25-year-old Douglas Davis left the children in the theater to watch the double feature "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2."
A woman in the theater became concerned after the children started to cry.
Management found Davis unconscious in the men's restroom.
Police said Douglas admitted to having drunk beer before the movie but did not know how much he had to drink.
Davis is charged with child neglect, public intoxication and simple possession of marijuana, after a search of Davis revealed two small bags of marijuana.
He is scheduled to appear in a Sumner County courtroom December 8.
