NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A grand jury will hear the case of the man charged with murdering a co-worker at Tennessee State University in Nashville.
Jarrod Phillips is accused of killing Nathaniel Adefope September 8.
Authorities said Phillips called in sick the day of Adefope's murder.
"A couple days later we received information from TSU police that they had an employee who had reported in sick the day of the homicide and he had received a cut to the hand," explained Metro police detective James Fuqua. "He worked across the street at another portion of the agricultural center at the farm."
Metro investigators also testified that Phillips' DNA was found under the finger nails of the victim.
He will appear in court October 8 for a probation violation hearing.
