NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man was shot in the chest three times early Monday morning after leaving a south Nashville club, according to police.
The man was at the LAX Lounge next to the Region's Bank on Murfreesboro Road.
He had parked in the Region's Bank parking lot and after leaving the club around 3 a.m., was shot in the chest in the bank's parking lot.
The woman he had been dancing with all night told News 2 she was on her way back to her car when she heard gunshots and realized he had been hit.
"I'd been dancing with him the whole night," she said. "We [were] just in there having fun. It is just sad. [You] can't even go out and enjoy yourself now."
The witness said there were no words exchanged or any type of altercation between the man and anyone else at the club.
Police told News 2 the witness told them that the incident was possibly gang related.
The man that was shot is in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Police urge anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
