Pre-trial testimony continues Friday for the man accused in two murders in 1975.
Jerome Barrett is charged with killing nine-year-old Marcia Trimble and Sarah Des Prez, a student at Vanderbilt University.
Thursday, several women testified that they were attacked that same year, they say, by Barrett.
A Davidson County judge is deciding if evidence from past crimes, where charges were dropped, can be used in the murder trial of Des Prez.
"I think it'd be crucial for the jury to understand what was going on in this community back in 1975 as far as these vicious assaults and attacks on women where he would attacking them, raping them and robbing them," said prosecutor Tom Thurman.
The judge did not make a ruling Thursday.
Barrett will first be tried for the murder Des Prez and then for the murder of Trimble.
