The wife of the lawyer found dead in his Green Hills home Monday morning was arrested Wednesday night.
Kelley Cannon, 41, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of criminal contempt for violating an order of protection.
James Cannon filed an order of protection against his wife in May after she tried to take the couple's youngest child.
The order prohibited her from having contact with her three children.
Monday morning, the couple's three children, aged nine, seven and 18-months, were found with Kelley Cannon in her Elmington Avenue home.
The children were last seen with their father at his home Sunday night.
Kelley Cannon was picked up during a traffic stop on Harding Pike and was booked through Metro night court around midnight.
She was released on $45,000 bond a short time after 9 a.m. Thursday and is next scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
An autopsy shows 44-year-old James Cannon was strangled to death.
A housekeeper discovered his body in an upstairs closet.
Kelley Cannon's attorney Peter Strianse said police have talked with his client about her husband's death.
He said, "At this point, they're advising me they are continuing with the investigation. They've been careful to identify her only as a ‘Person of Interest.' They've not even used the word suspect in my discussions with them.'"
Police have not confirmed that report.
The couple's three children are staying with James Cannon's family.
