A 44-year-old man was found dead in his Bowling Avenue home Monday morning.
A housekeeper found the body of James Cannon in an upstairs closet of the home just off Woodmont Boulevard around 8:30 a.m., police said.
While his body showed no visible signs of trauma, police are treating his death as a homicide.
Authorities said Cannon and his wife Kelley, who lives in another home, are going through a divorce.
James Cannon filed for divorce in February, and had custody of the couple's three children; a nine-year-old boy, seven-year-old boy and 18-month-old girl.
The children were not home when their father's body was discovered.
Last month, Kelley Cannon, 41, was arrested at the Bowling Avenue home after she reportedly tried to gain custody of the kids and rammed James Cannon's vehicle.
She was charged with domestic assault, evading arrest and reckless endangerment.
Police found the couple's children, along with Kelley Cannon, at her home Monday morning.
Police spoke with Kelley Cannon Monday evening, although she has not been named a suspect nor been charged.
Authorities said James Cannon had an order of protection against her.
The couple was last seen together Sunday night at James Cannon's Bowling Avenue home.
Cannon was an attorney and partner at Medical Reimbursements of America, located in Franklin.
Co-workers did not want to appear on camera but said they are shocked and trying to come to grips with what happened.
An autopsy is scheduled on James Cannon's body Tuesday morning.
