NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Aside from a few finishing touches, Bass Pro Shops is ready to reopen its Opry Mills store on Saturday.
When General Manager, Greg Cole, stepped into the store after the May flood, the water was nearly two feet deep.
Since May, Cole said they have had to start over, gutting the store and getting rid of all the damaged merchandise.
Four months later and the work is almost finished.
Bass Pro Shops will be the first Opry Mills retailer to reopen after the flood.
The mall has delayed reopening indefinitely and is suing their insurance companies for more flood coverage.
Even with a delay in reopening the mall, Cole thinks customers will be happy with the new store and is expecting their numbers to remain strong.
"A lot of the hunters are waiting on Bass Pro Shops to open up so they can get their hunting going and stuff," customer J.D. Hill told News 2.
After opening their doors on Saturday, Bass Pro Shops is planning a grand reopening in October.
