NASHVILLE, Tenn. - An inventory of former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair's estate lists about $19.6 million in assets, with the majority in stocks and bonds.
McNair did not have a will when he was shot and killed on July 4 by his 20-year-old mistress, who then turned the gun on herself, and it is unclear from the inventory whether he had a life insurance policy.
McNair's widow, Mechelle McNair, filed the inventory Friday, listing the majority of her late husband's assets, nearly $16.8 million, in stocks and bonds.
McNair owned newly-opened north Nashville restaurant Gridiron 9, worth $45,000, McNair Farms, Inc., a cattle farm business in Mississippi worth $1.2 million and a $700,000 home in Mississippi.
Steve and Mechelle McNair's home in Green Hills valued at over $3 million was not listed.
The home, which was on the market earlier this year, is in both their names.
So far, creditors have filed about $50,000 in claims against the estate.
McNair owed on his restaurant, a condo and a credit card balance.
McNair had two sons with wife Mechelle and two with other women.
The mothers of his oldest sons have not filed claims.
