NASHVILLE, Tenn. - An investigation is underway after an employee at the poultry plant at Tennessee State University in north Nashville was found dead Tuesday afternoon.

Metro police said 60-year-old Nathaniel Adefope, a supervisor at the Frank A. Young Poultry Plant on TSU's main campus, was found inside a storage building on the farm located in the 3500 block of West Heiman Street.

A co-worker discovered Adefope lying inside the building around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Metro police spokesperson Kristin Mumford said Adefope died from some kind of trauma to the head and his death has been ruled a homicide.

Adefope held a master's of science degree in agriculture with a concentration in animal science from TSU and had worked for the university since 1982.

The case remains under investigation.
