On Friday, Mechelle McNair broke her silence nearly three weeks to the day after her husband, Steve McNair, was killed in a murder-suicide.
In a statement released to the media, Mechelle said "mere words are inadequate to express the gratitude that my family holds for all of the countless expressions of sympathy for the loss of my husband, Steve McNair. Your prayers, kind deeds and outpouring of support throughout this difficult time have been of tremendous comfort to us."
McNairy was killed July 4 by his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi.
Police said the 20-year-old had become distraught about their relationship.
