ORANGE PARK, Fla. - The woman who killed former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair before turning the gun on herself was buried Friday in Florida in a private ceremony with about 30 friends and family members.
Sahel Kazemi, 20, was laid to rest in a modest brown casket after a 30-minute ceremony at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
Cemetery officials prevented reporters and photographers from covering the graveside service and from speaking with family members following the ceremony.
Kazemi dropped out of high school and moved to Nashville from Florida with a boyfriend at the age of 17.
She met McNair a few months ago and the two had been dating.
Kazemi shot McNair four times before she killed herself early last Saturday morning at a downtown condo McNair co-rented.
Police said she was distraught about financial problems and her belief that McNair was seeing someone else.
