Thundershowers with gusty winds and lots of lightning in West Tennessee are overspreading western parts of Middle Tennessee early this morning. While the line of storms is expected to weaken as it approaches I-65, I'll have to mention a chance of showers or thundershowers in Nashville this morning.
The storm chance continues through the early afternoon, and I think that the storms will thin out a bit during the late afternoon and evening. The storm chance picks back up late tonight into the day Wednesday as a front moves through. We can't rule out damaging wind gusts overnight as the storms approach from West Tennessee, but we are not anticipating a tornado threat.
Highs today will be in the mid-to-upper 80s. Lows tonight will only drop to the upper 60s.
As the storm chance exits the area Thursday (just a 10% rain opportunity then) we'll enjoy a cool down of sorts. Highs Thursday and Friday will be in the 70s and lows will be in the 50s.
The upcoming weekend looks great, with a mostly sunny sky and afternoon highs in the lower 80s.
