NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Police say a 9-year-old girl with a developmental disability led officers on a high-speed chase in her grandmother's car before stopping on an interstate highway, then driving into police car.
No one was hurt in the incident before dawn Friday on Interstate 24. Police followed the car, which was moving up to 80 mph without headlights on, from a southern Nashville neighborhood into neighboring Rutherford County.
WSMV-TV reported police turned off their emergency lights so the child wouldn't panic.
The station says the girl stopped the car on the highway, then hit the cruiser.
She was examined at a hospital, then released to her parents.
