Jamey Tucker was one of the first television religion reporters in the country when he began covering faith and ethics in 1993 for WHNT-TV, the CBS affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama. From Huntsville, he moved on to Memphis, TN's CBS station to cover religion before coming to Nashville in January of 2006.
"Religion is as interesting to me as baseball is to sports anchors and funnel clouds are to meteorologists. Faith is something we all have, whether it is faith in Jesus Christ, faith in Allah, faith in Buddha or faith that God doesn't exist. To be a video journalist covering faith in Nashville, Tennessee is like a dream come true. Faith is the backbone of nearly everything that happens in Middle Tennessee. Whether you are talking about church activities, government services, career changes, children, or the things we do to pass the time, what we believe has an impact on those things. I don't know how many times someone has walked up to me to say ‘thanks for covering these things'. News 2 is one of only a handful of TV stations in the country to devote a reporter to cover the ‘God beat' every day. I'm proud to be right where I am, doing exactly what I am doing."
Jamey, his wife Cameron and their two children live in Hendersonville. He has another daughter who lives in Alabama.
