Christine Maddela

Christine Maddela grew up in Denver, Colorado.  Early on, she had a passion for journalism, politics, and public speaking.  She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism with a Bachelor's of Journalism and a double minor in political science and Spanish.

The Tennessee Associated Press named Christine the winner of the 2008 "Best TV News Anchor" award.

Christine won another 2008 Tennessee Associated Press Broadcaster's Award for "The Border", a three part series documenting the illegal immigration issue from several different points of view. 

In 2006, Christine moved to Music City from the CBS affiliate in El Paso, Texas.

While in Texas, her reports on immigration and border issues drew national attention and won awards.  As a nationally certified public speaker, Christine also spoke to high schools students in her spare time, encouraging them to stay in school.  Christine has won numerous awards for her leadership and service in the communities in which she has lived.

Before working in El Paso, Christine worked as a Washington Correspondent in our nation's capitol.

In her free time, Christine enjoys playing with her dogs, watching sports, dancing, and reading.  She also teaches broadcast news classes in the mid-state.

Her parents live in St. Louis, Missouri. Christine dedicates her life and work to Geoff, her late younger brother and best friend.
