SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) - Yu Darvish pitched five positive innings and Jurickson Profar homered as the Texas Rangers beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-2 Monday. Darvish allowed two runs and five hits, striking out one without a walk. He yielded RBI doubles to Jay Bruce in the fourth and Ramon Santiago in the fifth.
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Breanna Stewart scored 20 points and top-ranked Connecticut beat No. 3 Louisville 72-52 Monday night to win the inaugural American Athletic Conference tournament. With the victory, UConn became the 14th team to enter the NCAA tournament without a loss.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky's group of heralded freshmen are no longer among the nation's elite. The young Wildcats, who began the year the top-ranked team in the nation amid a buzz of possibly even going unbeaten, have fallen out of the Top 25. They've lost three of their last four games, including Saturday's 84-65 loss at Florida.
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) - Seth Jones scored at 3:49 of overtime and the Nashville Predators defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-3 Monday night. Ryan Ellis broke in alone on goaltender Robin Lehner and Jones was there to bang home the loose puck. The win allowed the Predators to snap a four-game losing streak.
