
FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - Families and friends will be meeting loved ones this week at Fort Campbell, where more soldier are returning to the post on the Kentucky-Tennessee from Afghanistan. The post says about 240 soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team, known as the "Rakkasans," are due home tonight. The soldiers have been in Afghanistan for nine months.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A trial begins today that could determine which country will decide the fate of 13-year-old twin boys at the center of an international custody battle that extends from Eastern Europe to Middle Tennessee. The boys are American citizens who were born in Texas but have spent the majority of their lives in Hungary.
MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) - The University of Tennessee at Martin says it will offer a degree in nursing at its Decatur County location beginning next year. The university says its Parsons Center location will offer a Bachelor of Science in nursing in the fall of 2014.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Another 40 jobs are coming to Knox County as Gerdau (gair-DOW') expands its steel reinforcement bar plant. The new plant will have the capacity to finish about 120,000 tons of steel per year.
