Vickie Webb, 19, was found stabbed to death in her south Nashville apartment Monday afternoon.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A homicide investigation is underway in south Nashville after a woman's decomposing body was found in one of the units at the Altamont Point apartment complex on Murfreesboro Road, just east of Spence Lane.
Maintenance staff discovered 19-year-old Vickie Webb's body around 3:30 p.m. Monday after using a passkey to gain entrance into her apartment.
Metro police said she likely died days prior to being found. Due to decomposition, positive identification was to be made through dental records.
An autopsy Tuesday revealed that Webb had been stabbed to death.
Webb's family had not heard from her in several weeks, Metro police said.
In addition, her apartment rent was two months overdue and the electricity to the apartment had also been turned off.
Anyone with information on the murder is urged to call Metro police or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
