FRANKLIN, Tenn. - A suspected drunk driver was arrested after crashing his vehicle three times in Franklin Thursday night.

According to police, James Tomlin, 58, hit a vehicle at Hillsboro Road and Del Rio Pike just after 7 p.m. and then drove off.

Franklin police said the victim followed Tomlin while she called police on her cell phone.

Tomlin reportedly hit the woman's car again at 11th and Boyd Mill avenues.

He then fled a short distance before crashing into a utility pole at Jim Warren Park.

More than 200 children, parents and coaches were holding football tryouts on the other side of the fence.

No one was injured.

Police charged Tomlin with his third DUI.

He is also charged with reckless endangerment, driving on a revoked license and leaving the scene of a crash.

Tomlin remained in custody Friday afternoon on $8,500 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on August 10.
