22-year-old David AvingerNASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro police have identified a suspect in Saturday's fatal shooting of Vincent Perkins.
Perkins, 25, was a passenger in a car when he was shot at 7:20 p.m. during an apparent illegal drug transaction at the intersection of Howard Avenue and Oxford Avenue in Inglewood.
Witnesses identified 22-year-old David Orlando Avinger as the shooter.
Perkins ran from the car and collapsed nearby. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
An arrest warrant charging Avinger, who is paralyzed and uses a wheel chair, with criminal homicide has been issued.
