Titans win 4th in a row, 20-17 over Texans

HOUSTON, Texas - Texans kicker Kris Brown watched his 49 yard field goal sail wide left and the Titans stunned Houston 20-17 Monday night in Houston.

It was the fourth straight win for the Titans after opening the season 0-6.  The Texans fall to 5-5.

The game was close all night.  Steve Slaton scored on a three-yard pass from Matt Schaub to get the Texans on the board 7-0 in the first quarter.

The Titans answered back with a nine play, 80 yard drive.  Chris Johnson went for 17 yards on the option and Kenny Britt caught two long passes, the second for 18 yards and the first touchdown of his NFL career.  That tied it up 7-7 in the second.

Houston regained the lead on a 12 yard touchdown from Schaub to Andre Johnson, but that was their last lead of the night.

In the closing minutes of the first half, the Titans put a drive together highlighted by another spectacular 35 yard run from Johnson.  A Lendale White one yard touchdown tied it up 14-14 at the half.

The teams traded field goals in the third to make it 17-17.  In the fourth, the Titans took over at their own six with five minutes to play and Young drove them all the way to the Texans 35 yard line.   Rob Bironas drilled a 53 yard field goal with 46 seconds to play to give the Titans the lead 20-17.

The Texans drove to the Titans 32 though and Kris Brown had a chance to tie it with six seconds left, but the kick wasn't even close.

Young threw for 116 yards and ran for 73 more.  Johnson had 29 carries for 151 yards.  Defensively, Tony Brown had two of the Titans' four sacks.

Tennessee is home Sunday when Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals visit LP Field.
