
Roy WilsonNASHVILLE, Tenn. – The embattled leader of Metro's parks department announced his resignation Tuesday.
News 2 obtained a copy of an email, sent by Roy Wilson to members of the Metro Parks and Recreation Department.
In the letter, Wilson announced plans to leave by the end of this year.
Wilson has come under fire for allowing the parks budget to soar $1.7 million beyond its means.
Wilson said in the email he has another job lined up.
The mayor's office received his resignation around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
