Suspects surrender after 4-hour standoff

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Three suspects in a home invasion robbery have surrendered after a nearly four hour standoff Tuesday in Bordeaux, north of Nashville.

Metro police spokesperson Kristin Mumford said officers were called to the house located at 3237 Briarwick Drive at about 12:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, they took one suspect into custody.

Three other suspects retreated back into the house and refused to exit the home.

The Metro Police Department’s Special Response Team was called to the scene and made several attempts to contact the suspects inside.

They surrendered nearly four hours later, at about 4:15 p.m.

Angela Rogan, 46, was inside the home at the time of the invasion, along with her son, 21-year-old Rashad Pitts.

Both managed to escape.

Mumford said Rogan was on the phone with a friend at the time of the invasion and the friend realized what was going on and notified police.

A motive was not immediately known.
