LAFAYETTE, Tenn. - The Macon County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are investigating a triple homicide in Macon County near Lafayette, about 70 miles northeast of Nashville.
Authorities said three people, two men and a woman, were found shot in a mobile home on Highland Road off Galen Road at about 5:45 a.m. Monday.
The victims are identified as 34-year-old Jamey Wayne Holland, 20-year-old Jessica Danielle Bentle and 26-year-old Modesto Retureta.
Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and a third was transported to a hospital where that victim was also pronounced dead.
Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons said a witness on the scene identified 28-year-old Charles Harrison as the suspect and a be-on-the-lookout was issued.
"[The witness] was here, she was also outside, she heard gunfire, at that time she proceeded to hide in the woods, after the suspect left she returned to the mobile home, goes in and finds three victims had been shot and [called] 911," he said. "She also advised that the suspect we'd be looking for would be a Charlie Harrison."
Harrison was located in the Bethpage community of Sumner County around 11 a.m.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Macon County jail for questioning.
Harrison is said to have known at the least one of the victims.
He is expected to be officially charged late Monday.
