MARTIN, Tenn. - Authorizes in west Tennessee believe they have arrested a serial rapist, suspected in as many as six sexual assaults over the past two months.
Bruce Tuck, of Gleason, was arrested on Wednesday after police connected him to the rape of a UT Martin student through DNA and items stolen from the victim's home.
The 35-year-old Tuck was booked into the Weakley County jail Thursday morning after complaining of chest pains and taken to the hospital following his arrest.
At his arraignment Thursday, Tuck was ordered held without bond pending a preliminary hearing next Wednesday.
Tuck, a former volunteer for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, is alleged to be the gunman who broke into the victim's home on August 30, tied up three people and then raped one of them.
Detectives say he could be linked to other sexual assaults in Martin, Memphis and Shelby County.
